Former FBI Counterintelligence Specialist Joins Advantage SCI
Richard “Rick” J. Haidle, a former FBI Counterintelligence Specialist for more than 30 years, joined the Advantage SCI Corporate Team in November 2011 to bring his counterintelligence expertise to the company. In addition, Rick has responsibility for management of specific task orders as assigned.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Rick was commissioned after college as a second lieutenant in the Military Intelligence Branch, earning an additional BA with a major in Criminal Justice. He continued to serve for 11 years as a Military Intelligence Officer, Counterintelligence (36A). He then earned an Master of Arts in Counseling from Ball State University, doing so while serving in Germany. Eventually Rick left Active Duty with a rank of Captain, subsequently promoting to a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, prior to joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Rick was appointed as a Special Agent in 1989, assigned to the Los Angeles FBI Branch. Tasked with investigating National Security-related matters, Rick traveled the globe. His promotion 10 years later was to a Supervisory Special Agent.
Rick supervised investigations involving foreign intelligence activity and espionage cases, being promoted to Unit Chief and Assistant Section Chief, Counterintelligence Division at FBIHQ during an 18-month TDY to FBIHQ from 2005 to 2007. Returning to Los Angeles from his TDY in May 2007, Rick supervised investigations related to Espionage and European intelligence-related activities until his retirement in 2009. The FBI hired him back as a contractor in 2009 to conduct Security Education and Awareness outreach to the 600 plus Cleared Defense Contractors in the greater Los Angeles area.
